New Concepts
د. Yusuf Beğtaş

New Concepts
Every new concept we learn that was not in our vocabulary, in whatever language we know, is home to a new meaning. Every meaning is a new horizon.
Every new concept, every new meaning, that enters the world of our thought and significance, the more we understand it, ow it, adopt it into our world of thought, give it continuity, in time, it will enrich our distinctive way of thinking. It will add new awareness.
This light of this thought-enrichmen and awareness is a defence against engulfment and going stale. It has the funciton of an anti-body against the antigens (viruses, bacteria, parasites) that enter the structure of our thought to poison life and strikedown new growth.
Because the unique goal in life is to bring our most preacious possessions, our thoughts, closer to the ultimate truth. The thought that is closest to ultimate truth is the moral thought. To be moral (moral thought), is a thought that is useful for not harming anyone in thought, in word, or in action.
Morality, contrary to what is often assumed, is not dependent upon a person’s/human being’s relationship to others, but rather with himself/herself.
That is why in Syriac culture it is said, “He who serves a human being/humanity is the one closest to God, that is to divine power.”
